random idle after HO manifold swap. help !!
Friday, May 15, 2009 9:38 PM
i have everything done and hoses connected n sensor in there right spot.. the car will start but then will idle at about 3k then drop down to almost 2k. then soon after it will rev or idle at random rpms... 2000rpm to 300rpm mabe. i used the sensors that were already on the HO manifold and throttle.

- the pcv line coming from the fuel rail is connected to the first spot on the 2.3 manifold
- the map sensor is connected to the middle spot..
- and then the last spot on the manifold it self is the IAt sensor. i also used the one that came with the manifold. but before hand i used the IAt sensor on the custom intake i made.
the brake booster vacuum hose is connected to the 2.3 TB
then the last pcv hose is connected to the only other "smaller" spot

im throwing the p507 code.. its driving me nuts... should i just go ahead and use my 2,4 Tb? and sensors? iv read through many of the write ups and even the quad4 writeup. please help im delirious haha

You can't really use the IAT as it is.
The plugs don't match up...keyed differently

If you had one like from a Corvette (like I had) the plugs would match fine and you can use it.
But the IAT you sould you be using that's in your intake piping like normal.

Did you do any porting on the mani to match up to the head? Its not a 1 to1 match up.
About the bouncing, tighten down the bolts to of the mani to the head.
Don't go by the torque specs. Just crank it down tight.

And use your factory sensors from your 2.4L tb.
Depending on the 2.3L tb you have, you may have to make a quick adjustment on it.
(or I can sell you mine SMG joint)

Hope this helps,
