HUUUGE electrical problem!

Hey guys

So I was at the track on monday night and wheb there was like 3 cars before me my car starts to feel kinda like powerless .. So I revv it a little bit
After I rev it my dash starts lighting up like crazy
So it was my turn and to save the embarrasment of my car turning off in the middle of the race I just ran The track at slow speed
So I pull off in the parking and open the hood and when I start looking at the motor it just dies
With no intention of turning on no more
The battery died

Had it towed
So the next day I started testing on what was wrong and I noticed it was the alternator
Cause the car turned off when I took of the postive one

So I got the alternator tested in pepboys just to make sure and it was that
I bought a new one (luckily with lifetime warranty)I got it on the car it ran for about 3 hours abd then I noticed my dash starts to go crazy again everything starts to turn on and off
And the alternator got messed up again
BRAND NEW alternator GRRR

Any idea on what it cold be
I'm pretty sure it has to do with wiring
But what should I do
Taking it to a mechanic its my last resort
Any of you guys can help me plzzz

Unless you catch a dead alternator early (which you didn't) you should replace the battery as well.

Dead batteries murder alternators.

also, don't EVER remove a battery cable while the car is running on a computer controlled vehicle. thats testing from back in the 60's. whoever told you to do that should be slapped with a fish. hard.

my cav is doing the same thing I found out that my coil module was fried so I replaced my coils, coil module, plug wires, and have a high output alternator and a optima redtop battery. It will start for about 25 seconds and then shuts off I still cant figure it out yet. Sorry not trying to thread jack im just curious if we having the same damn problem.
