Friday, June 05, 2009 8:24 PM
As the title says i have a problem with the a fore mentioned items. i have located a module of some sort under the passenger side of the dash board. It has a few burnt wires leading to a plug. I rewired all the wires and still nothing works. Any help would be much appreciated. I would really like to have everything work on my car. Thanks for the Help
btw- the car is a 1997 sunfire convertible.

Did you check the fuse? It sounds stupid but alot of time they just blow and that's the last thing I check. Especialy with bad wires.

I'm not going anywhere just yet

I believe the module you found under the dash is the "Multi-Function-Alarm-Module" that deals with such things as the ignition key warning alarm, seat belt alarm, theatre light functions for the interior lights and the like. I don't know if it's tied into the mirrors or keyless entry, though. The keyless entry receiver module is in the trunk, velcro'd to the driver side wheel housing under the mat. On the early third gen years like yours, you can change the modules without drama (except you'll have to reprogram your remotes) and there are plenty of them in most junkyards.
