I need a new muffler and i would like to get something less restrictive than stock but not have the loud sound of a performance muffler. I was thinking of maybe something like a stock muffler from another car that would be less restrictive than cavy muffler. Any ideas?
i had a muffler from a Caravan on my cavy (had it kickin around in the basement and it was time to get a new one), but anyways, it was made for a V6 so i can only assume that it was less restrictive

X 2 on this. I have one in the rear with a 22" magnaflow resonator and it sounds great. Quiet with a little growl to it.
Toss a stocker back on if you are not going to upgrade the size of the exhaust pipe.

And if you are going to go bigger,
Quietflow.
This is what I have after I had those annoying dynomax superturbos, no regrets.

I guess i have to say that i have a test pipe for a cat so i'm really not interested in some performance muffler like de dynomax turbo...

So i guess what you're saying is that the stock muffler isn't that restrictive to start with so no point in changing it if i keep the same size exhaust line?
If so, great. But how do you know this?

Well i had a bad cat and i just figured this was a cheap replacement and if i could gain a little power by doing it then all the better. I don't mind the raspy sound because it's not loud.

It is a fundamental of performance modification. Larger diameter piping = freer flowing exhaust(i.e. less restriction). I am assuming that you know about the benefits of reduced exhaust restrictions.
