IM JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO TEST LIFTERS. I HAVE THEM OUT OF MY CAR BY HAND I CAN TELL 3 OF THEM ARE STIFF AND WILL NOT MOVE THE REST OF THEM SEEM TO HAVE MOVEMENT WHEN YOU PRESS ON THEM. THIS MAKES ME THINK THESE THREE ARE BAD BUT I WANT TO DOUBLE CHECK ALL OF THEM WHILE I HAVE THE ENGINE ALL TORN APART. I WAS TOLD SOMETHING ABOUT PUT THEM IN SOME OIL AND SEE IF THEN FUNCTION/FILL UP AND PRESSURIZE OR NOT??? WELL THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
i thought of that idea but they are $70 a piece which is way outta my price range at the moment...the total would be like $1,120 and if i did just the whole side that is damaged it would be like half that way too much...
summit racing has them for 20.00 a piece, or you can do what im doing, clean them, what you have to do is hold them upside down so the plundger is facing down and have a hard surface like a steel work bench and slam them on the table, it may take 1 or 2 or even 3 tries but the plunger will come out in 3 pieces, and so will all the crap thats causing it to stick, may be metal shavings, spray brake clean in them or use a parts washer to clean then reinstall the plunger into the lifter and you should be good to go
