Dumb question about CEL
Tuesday, July 21, 2009 8:51 AM
1994 Cavi 2.2L that I race on dirt tracks. The last couple of races, when the engine is cutting out in the corners (a problem I have been chasing without success for a few weeks now), the CEL will flicker on for a second or two. It does not stay on but goes off when the engine stops cutting out.

On my OBD I ECM (I am assuming 1994 was still OBD I), will the computer hold the code so I can check it later? I know that's how my current cars work. Or does the CEL actually have to be on at the time you hook up the reader to be able to pull a code?
