Hi All,
I have a big problem here and I've searched and searched and couldn't find the answer to my problem. My car wont start and i can't pinpoint the problem. Here is how it happens in order of event... I open the door, dome lights goes on, then i turn the ign. to start the car, all power goes out. Not even a crank. I check all fuses and they all are fine. I tried jump starting the car with my truck, same problem happens... all power goes out as i turn the ign. Finally I figure the battery is bad... so i took it out and took it to PepBoys and they confirmed it was a bad battery so I got a free replacement since it was an optima battery and I had one more year of warranty on it. I bring it home and put it in my cav and hooked everything back up, I go in the car and dome lights goes on.. i turn the ign and tried to start it, all power goes out like before.
Im more than puzzled than before so anybody can help me out here?

High probability of a bad ignition switch. The electrical portion does go bad over time.

I had the same issue not to long ago. Check the wire going into the fuse box make sure its tight. Mine was loose and did the exact same thing.
