Heat issue
Monday, August 03, 2009 4:18 PM
after about 10 minutes of driving, i feel a lot of heat in the cabin near my feet... the center console near the firewall is hot, the plastic panel behind the center console over the black box is hot, and the dash around the radio, hvac, and behind the steering wheel near the firewall is hot. So im either leaking hot air in through the firewall, or i have an issue with the black box pumping out heat.

Now my vents will blow cool air regardless of upper vents or lower vents. I have a pacesetter header on the 2.4 motor, and the factory heat shield was unable to be reinstalled.

So has anyone else experienced this and could tell me whether its in the black HVAC box (either a leak near the heater core or a sluggish heater core), or whether my header is generating that much heat.

thanks!!

even with the extra heat mine made being super charged and in 115-120 degree summers , ive never had a heat issue inside the car

only header i know of that generated excessive heat was rks's eco header

also the heater core circulates hot coolant constantly , so if 1 of the blend doors isnt closing properly , it will warm things up when it shouldnt be

FIXED

The grommet on the floor board that the shift cables run through was loose.
