ok. new to the forum and need some advice. the car in this scenario is a 95 or 96 2.2L auto cavalier with 160,000 miles on it. now the problem, the car will start but only when pumping the gas (usually about half throttle) and will continue running if u continue to pump the accelerator however as soon as u let off gas it dies. my suspicsion is a fuel filter but y'all are the pros? also do u think $450 for the car is a good deal? the body is not in great shape by any definition but the interior is decent and i really need a commuter for school.

Doubt its the fuel filter, its dies in all gears, or when put in D?

Have you tested fuel pressure, MAP voltage, any readings
