Just need to find out how to remove the radiator fan on a 99 with the base 2.2L engine and AC. Can someone point the way, please?

Did a search here and found some info on a 2.4L, but not on the 2.2L.

Found some instructions on the web, they say to remove the lower bolt and swing the fan down. Tried that and whatever is holding the driver's side will not budge. Tried with a flashlight and mirror and can't figure out how to release the driver's side. Seems like it's attached directly to the radiator tank with a plastic stud, tried to move it to see if it would release but it's not letting go?? Don't want to break something.

Also the AC hose from the compressor is rubbing the shroud, was there something to hold it? If yes, where was it?
