hey I bought a 2001 z24 with the motor ticking verry bad I knew the motor was just about gone. I got a wrecked 2001 sunfire gt bought that I am using for the motor I got my old motor out and the new one in problem now is the car wont start it just boggles my mind why she wont go!
-first reason wouldent crank problem batery was dead I bought a new one thats fixed
-second she started cranking and then stoped starting wire burned off I got one off the other car working fine now cranks fine
-third turns out there was no gas pressure in the lines pump went dead bought a new pump today got it in and still no go anyone got some advice or pointers of what I can do will be a great help ill post pics if someone needs to see something.

So when you put the vehicle in gear it wont move the engine just revs up, is that what you are saying.

If yes, disconnect the transmission solenoid connector, if the vehicle moves your problem is eletrical, if it doesnt it is mechancial

if it does not start... you can have a bad or no ground someweres, fuel pressures, and injectors working. make sure all relays and fuses are good and working. maybe there is air in the fues line? try to bleed it out, some cars have a valve much like on a tire. are you getting spark? that can be a bunch of things there, plugs wires coils, modues. those 2.4 ide coves are notorious for givving up for no reason. also, you may want to check timing. is this motor from your wrecked car? if it is you may have damaged it in the wreck. good luck with it none the less!

yes the motor was out of the wrecked car the car wasent really beat up bad just off the road and rold on to its roof just pushed the roof down a bit no front end damage or anything. The 2.4 idel cover that the cover that goes on the motor that the spark plugs goes on to? Igot fuel pressure the car ran when i bough her had a really bad tick I drove her all most home around 50 klms and around 5 klms from my house the motor went all togeather so I know my wires and every thing on my body works only things i used from the wrecked car were starter, intake manafold throttle body and well compressor pump and altanotor(sp)and my fuel rail.i will try swaping the 2.4 idel covers so see if it makes any difference.
