Hey guys,
gotta thank everyone for helping me recently with my car.
Last night, we had a breakthrough with my noise problem:
When we changed out the rod bearings, #1 cylinder, was spun.
So we looked closer at that cylinder.
While the car was running, and the noise was occuring at the 2500-3000 RPM mark, I removed the fuel injector plug, the car still ran on 3, and you could hear no noise like I was having - plugged it in and it came back. It does sound like good compression on this cylinder.
So we decided to look at the ring seals to see if any of them were chewing up the cylinder wall or something....
so we boroscoped the cylinder and it looked fine. no defined marks.
So here is what we are going to do...
When we took off the spun bearing originally, we measured the crank - it measured 1.915
The crank was a little worn, but no defined gouges...
Does anyone know the measurement it should be?
We are looking at putting an oversized bearing on that cylinder.
What are your thoughts?
where can I get oversized bearings for a good price? Just need 1.
