SO, the other day i pull outta work, adn my shifter goes limp, s i pull the center console out, its fine in there, turns out the nut that holds the little ball joint that the cable hooks onto to the shift fork has completely gone missing. Im just wondering what size nut this is so i can go grab one since the cable is ziptied to the fork right now lol. Its an isuzu if that helps.

thanks

Well on my 94 pont sunbird the cables were broken off the transmission at an auto shop. Orignally there is a plastic keeper. The trans levers have pins on them with a groove on the end. I cut off a piece of round aluminum stock the thickness I needed, drilled the center out the same size as the pins and sanded it down until it fit inside the cable eyelet. slid this over the pin on the trans lever put a large steel washer on next then installed an E-clip available at Lowe's or Home depot. New cables with new clips cost 175 bucks ea. 350 for a set. The cables operated smooth with no binding so I spent a day and saved 350 dollars.

If yours has bolts its prob metric also avail at lowe's or home depot.
