That is on a cold start, if you listen closely you can kind of hear it, once it warms up it goes away a good bit but you can still hear slight ticking.
Do I need new lifters..or adjustment? The sound has me worried.
I hear some ticking noise on my 2.2L s10 when the engine is cold and than it goes away. I assume it is a sticky lifter. You could try to add some Rislone to see if the noise goes down or stops. If you were hearing a ticking sound at higher rpm's I might suspect the timing chain/tensionor assembly.
I will only reach higher rpms once its warm and my intake is so loud I have no idea if its ticking at the higher rpms.
once it is warm it does it too, just not as loud, and it does do it when revving up, at a faster rate.
I also noticed recently I have some seepage around the valve cover. It's not idling too smooth either( no rpm flucuation, just a tad bumpy), the car has had a COMPLETE tune up, trust me. plugs, coils, O2, TPS.
Could it be piston slap?
