I need help, Just after rebuilding the transmission, buying new tires, replacing the convertible top, and replacing the timing chain and water pump, the 2.4 in my Sunfire GT started knocking and has now locked up. I need the easiest cheapest way of replacing the engine with an reliable hopefully newer engine. It does not have to be a 2.4, I was hoping to be able to buy a newer Ecotec with transmission to swap into it. has anyone done this and how hard would it be? would it be better to get an entire engine cradle and do a swap as opposed to swapping an engine and transmission only?
HELP, I have so much in this car now I can't just junk it. plus i am out of work and have limited funds...
