My engine is knocking hard and I have a friend that has a 96 Cavalier with a 2.2 ohv motor and I have a 02 cavalier with a 2.2 ohv motor also will the 96 fit in my car? all the help plz asap thxs
It should physically fit, but the wiring and ecu may be different. not exactly sure.
Find one from a 2000 or newer, or you might as well swap it to a eco. Probally be easier to swap it to a eco.
98-2002 = 2200 and are the same motor & can be swapped... 97 and below are the older style 2.2 & are not a direct replacement. Involves a complete wire harness/ecu swap as well.
