With out any major repairs.
I am pushing 150,000 and have only had to put on a cooling fan motor. My wife got a gas tank full of water back when it was under warenty, so they put a new fuel pump in around 60,000. Other then that no problems. I change the oil every 3-4 thousand miles, trans fluid every 20,000, fuel filter every 3rd oil change. The car has never set the SES light.
There's a million threads like this, and one in Off Topic I started, but anyway..
2000 cavy (2200), 201K miles, no major repairs other than fuel pump, filter, and timing chain tensioner. Just goes to show ya what good regular maintenance can do!

Oh yeah and until I got it at 125k, it got it's oil changed every 3,000 with Castrol GTX. The transmission fluid was change exactly once, at 100,000 miles (which is why I think the original transmission failed. Got a GM Reman put in) And now I'm going to change it every 30,000 with Dexron VI and Lubegard. I now change the oil every 5-7k miles with a high quality syn or syn blend.
Im gonna win this one with 306,xxx
I had a 96 Cav with 240K. I could've gone more but it was beat up and needed more repairs than what the car was worth. I didn't do the timing chain on it and drove it till it snapped.
I also have an 05 with 100K. Normal maintenance.
My 1996 cav has 113,000 miles, all it has needed is was new AC parts, fan, coil pack, struts and spring kit, belt tensioner, serpentine belt, new front right window motor.
~1996 Cavalier LS 2.4L (auto)
My old car was a 2000 with only 32k when i bought it. I sold it a few years ago and the body had 90k and the built motor only had 30k. I'm a mileage person i guess, i don't like to drive anything high with high miles.
i think 83000 have not driven it since jan.
salvage 2002 sunfire 64,000 miles
-CV joints
-O2 sensor if it counts
98 Sunfire 2200 3 speed auto with 155k
Only replaced water pump and starter and is on its 2nd battery. I replaced the struts 3k ago just because I felt it was a good time to do it. Runs perfect.
My 1999 Sunfire (2200/3 spd) was bought new and traded in with 115,000 miles. Replaced the battery and 02 sensor.
My 2004 Cav LS Sport (eco/auto) was bought new and now has 131,000 miles and counting. Replaced the battery and both front wheel bearings. First repair (bearing) was at 108,000 miles.
Wifes 1999 malibu (2.4tc/auto) has 149,000 miles and counting. Several repairs, but engine and trans are still original. Engine has many minor oil leaks but doesnt burn any.

260,500 as of today. Popped the head gasket and slipped the timing chain 90* at 250K, drove it 20 miles like that, (drove it to the shop) then fixed it and have been driving it ever since.
2000 Ford F-250 7.3 Powerstroke 4x4 - Not stock
1973 16' Tahiti Speedboat
1983 200 HP Mercury BlackMax
1997 Chevy Cavalier with 275K miles
'04 with 57k... nothing but oil changes since getting it at 41k.
you traded this car in for a ford focus?
'89 2.0 turbo with 446k , I may have a world record holding 2 liter engine. Say all you want about these old engines, but they are reliable as hell if you maintain them properly.
bought my 01 2200 in 2009 with 18000....now has 35000. hope to drive this car for a long time lol
143K. Been boosted since 120k.
I had a 99 Z24. I bought it new.
At 8k, I replaced the water pump.
At 80k, the spider gears in the transmission. I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing as a maintenance measure.
At 82k, the transmission.
At 123k, the spider gears in the transmission.
At 135k, the alternator.
At 145k, my wife replaced the cooling fan while I was at work.
At 150k, the alternator again.
At 165k, I overhauled the engine as a maintenance measure when the head gasket went. This was a complete overhaul with new pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, pumps, etc.
At 170k, the throw-out bearing.
At 175k, I replaced the front calipers.
I performed oil changes every 2500 to 3000 miles using Castrol GTX 5W30 and AC Delco PF44 / PF46 oil filter. I put a quart of lucas oil addative and a quart of the recommended fluid in the transmission when I replaced the spider gears the second time. I performed all the recommended maintenance at or before their recommended intervals. The car had been in like 5 minor accidents while I owned it, none of which were more than $1500 in parts and labor to repair properly.
I sold the car at roughly 200k in March of 2006. The girl that bought it from me still has it, however she has succeeded in killing it. I seen it just a couple weeks ago and it looks like it has been through a demo derby. It still runs but she tells me it has a sever overheating problem and that she can't drive it more than a few miles at a time without having ot pull over and put coolant or water in it. She has done an astronomical amount of work to the car just to be able drive the car to and from work a few miless from her house every day. I had the option of getting it back for free, but I decided that it would be too much money to get it back to where I had it and was happy with it.
I now have an 02 with 135k on it. I runs great but has some minor problems that I am trying to deal with. I decided though that I am going ot drive this one till the wheels fall off of it.
Some people have brain storms, others light drizzles. And then there are those that have droughts.
309k. 96 z24. Epic epic beater car. I love it.
2003 Cavalier LSS almost 99,000 miles
