Just did a valve lash adjustment because I thought that may be it. You can hear it once the rpms come down to an idle. What in the heck could this be? Doesn't sound pretty at ALL.

There's a video. Any ideas fellas?
thanks
cooling fan is kicking on automatically now and traction control is off..everything is plugged back in.
bout to take her off a cliff.. haha.
I cant make out any sound in particular in that vid.
Can't make out much at all with the sound quality of that video. The sound I think I hear, sounds like a typical noisy lil LN2.
got 3 videos with my real hq camera...it has a trimble at idle too...took it to a gm dealership for the second time because my warranty expires soon, they said nothing is wrong with it...something seems to be wrong, and i know it's not right I just dont know what and they aren't willing to find out..it shakes here and there slightly and sounds pretty rough on a cold start.

(listen at 8 seconds...pulsing the throttle the rpms tend to go down to about 500 and then the car catches itself and comes up..you can hear something not sounding good here..)
Ah mine does that too. It's just lifter clatter. Try a thinner oil. If you are already running a 5W-30, try Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30, it's a thin 30wt and the noise goes away with it on mine.
its louder with a thicker oil. ..so you say lifter clatter??
would new lifters fix this problem i suppose? guess they're wore out?
also, like i said it shakes at an idle slightly, feels like a misfire, but my ignition is all good. sometimes its stalled after reversing out of the driveway and putting it in drive and coming onto the gas itll delay for a second and then go. not all the time though.
could this be a timing chain issue?
I don't think so. Mine shakes occasioanlly at idle, it's just the way these engines are, I think. Not a bad shake really, but a vibration. They aren't the smoothest and most sophisticated engines, with no balance shafts, and no VVT or anything like that. What's happening is the lifters are leaking down. It's no big deal at all, definitely not worth replacing them, lots of engines make this noise. Again, with mine it's louder with thicker oil, so go thinner. Maxlife 5w-30 was extremely loud tick, the Quaker State Synthetic 5W-30 mixed with about a pint of 5W-20 is the quietest oil I've run yet. I don't know what could be causing the delay but mine does that too, again, on occasion.
I had some feeling that it was just my wonderfully smooth running (sarcasm) 2.2 OHV, shes getting aged somewhat, shes nearing 100,000 soon, and I beat on her a little hard for a good 10,000 avg. miles. Always taken good care of it though. I've got a 10w in it right now, some of the best oil there is, schauffers with a moly and an ac delco oil filter, the noise is louder with that oil than the mobil1 5w30, but the schauffers is a better oil and i can tell a difference with the butt dyno pulling out. when im ready to change I guess ill go back to a thin 5w30. appreciate your help.
No prob. I'm nearing 137,000 on mine, still running strong (albeit with new head gasket, water pump, alternator). I learned alot about that stuff from the other site I frequent, bobistheoilguy.com . If you have any other questions, just ask
