almost in an accident, now car won't start!

So a neon full of teens decided to pull out in front of me then panicked and stopped when they realized how close I was! I slammed the brakes and slid around them but when I did that all the lights on the dash lit up, and the engine started howling like there was some weird electrical issue. All the dash lights went out except the brake light and the abs within a few seconds. So I limped the car to a parking lot then it quit. Could not get it started for an hour, in that hour though the needles on the guages would not stop jumping. Anyway it fired up and ran fine, drove 20 minutes to my house and shut it off. Today nothing works, no interior lighting, turning the key all there is is a click like the battery has a loose connection. Everything is tight and even trying to boost it does nothing. So obviously there is an electrical issue, but does anyone have any guesses to what is going on? I'm curious that the abs maybe malfunctioning too because when I hit the brakes they locked and the rear of the car instantly kicked out to the left. Anyway any suggestions would be appreciated, weirdest damn thing to avoid an accident but still end up having to shell out to fix my car!

Check the ground wires. Sounds like it couldve gotten jerked around when you slammed on the brakes.

See what the voltage is at the battery. A short in a power wire could be causing the battery to die.
