ok i have another thread in the 3rd gen section, but maybe itll get more attention here
the issuse im having are, the car idles rough at about 800-900 rpms, sorta feels like it has a bigger cam in it
when im driving, if i shift around 2500rpms i dont notice the jumpy acceleration, but above that unless im at WOT its really jumpy, car jerks back and forth ect.
and the biggest problem, when i come up to a stop light or have to stop, when i push the clutch in, the car stalls
any ideas as to what my problems are? i had the car scanned, the cam position sensor came up, i replaced it, made no difference, so im stumped, 2200/f23 getrag
Maybe a tune up is in order, sparkplugs,cleaning of throtle body,fuel filter,air filter,etc ....
maybe, im gonna try a new fuel filter and another TB over the weekend, air filter it new so its not contributing to it, plug wires were new like a month ago, and the plugs arent even a year old yet, but i suppose cleaning and making sure the gap on them is right wouldnt harm anything
Sounds to me like you may have clogged injectors. If the fine little holes in the injectors get partially blocked, the car will still run.. but it'll run like crap. Next visit to the gas station, pump some of that expensive high grade gas in and ad a bottle of high octane boost with injector cleaner. Mix it with about a quarter tank the first time for a higher concentration. You may be pleasantly surprised if your car just happens to jump back to life.......... Or it could be something completely different. This is one of the cheapest, easiest and very effective fixes for a big problem!!! Report back
TRy the gas idea, then a simple tune up. I think everyone has hit the nail on the head here. Hope it works out!

If non of that stuff works, check the timing chain. The statement you said feels like I have a bigger cam makes me think timing chain since you have another thread here about the the miles on your sunfire a d T.M. just had his timing chain go at 90k miles, and he was expierencing some of the same complaints.
yeah my recent post was about the timing in my eco, but im thinking the problem in my 98 is timing related, but i may try doing the gas and tune up, just dont wanna put too much money into it when im not 100% sure what wrong, if ya know what i mean lol
