I noticed today the service light is on now, and I was wondering how to get the service codes without a scanner. can I use a wire to connect to another??? how do i do it please

Drive to Autozone and ask real nice for them to read your codes. Works every time; so I'm told.
I just did that LMAO! seems my service light went off when I got back in the car after letting it sit for 10 minutes. and the only thing that came up was a/c fan, but I have an after market rad fan hooked up to fuse panel inside car so I already knew that, however that is throwing a engine light not the service light. Does the cavalier manual have details about what covers the service codes?
Thanks Ezequial for the fast response. After posting this thread, I called autozone and the guy told me to bring it there. Turned out to be nothing I guess.

Last night I figured out what the problem was, I disabled DRL's and the wire came loose from the ground, Fixed and happy
