On my most recent oil change, I noticed the valve cover was covered with black oil, it begins where the bolts are and 1/4 of the cover is covered in oil residue. Should I be concerned?

Sounds to me you need a Valve cover gasket....fairly simple to do, and the gasket is maybe 20 dollars...just did one on a mitsubishi eclipse, took 15 minutes. unbolt the valve cover, scrape away all the old gasket and put fresh one in and tighten to torque specs
