Rough Idle

I have a 97 with a 2.4 in it. When i start my car it idles at around 1500rpm and bounces up and down from 1500 to just less than 2000. I had the check engine code read and it said it was my idle air control valve so I replaced that and it is still doing it. The car drives fine but it is just really annoying to have it sit there and rev up all the time. All this started happening after my serpentine belt broke because the tensioner bearing froze up so i had to pull the intake manifold off to get to the nut to change that, anyway I don't think there are any vacuum leaks and everything is hooked up right. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Recheck for vacumm leaks or vacuum hose craked. Also check the IAT and IAC again ...

A friend of mine's having the same problem with his 01 z24, it idles to about 2800 rpm only when in neutral, then when you go to any gear (even reverse) the rpms drop and start to pick up as you accelerate. The check engine light was on and it read that the tps sensor was bad the he replace it and the check light went away but the idle issue its still there. We're gonna check for vacum leaks!!

I am thinking the problem might just be that it is cold out and I might have gotten some bad gas. I put a bottle of injector cleaner and filled it up with some 89 octane and it is a little warmer today. (its still below freezing outside) but it isn't doing it as bad and sometimes it will stop bouncing for a few seconds but as long as I'm moving there is no problem with it. I am hoping it will eventually just straighten itself out, but if it doesn't does anyone have any other ideas?

i usually run 87 in it. there is a race shop that sells 112 octane but it is about a 3 hour drive from here and i think it costs around $8 a gallon or something like that.
