I have a 03 cavalier z24 auto, and it sat all winter with no battery, I put a new one in at lots of juice but no start.. the theft like only comes on when I try to turn it over. then I try to start it fires righ tup, idles, runs fine.. shut it off and try it again and it will start 3-5 more times no problem.. but then one time I'll try to start and same thing, no start but lots of juice..
I've tried it all:
-leave key on for 10mins
-leave key on for 10 mins and turn key back 3 times over
-check all fuses
-sliding shifter back and fourth while trying to start
-try to start in neutral
-locking & unlocking doors with key
-hold buttons on for 7 seconds on my remote unlock key chain
-making sure all grounds & conections are good
-even somekind of jbody rain dance around the car naked on the first full moon
AND NOTHING!
really running low on ideas here and when I call the dealership they only give me half the advice people on here know or tell me to tow it in, and that alone will be a hefity bill itself.
anybody have some different ideas?..
you sure there is no anti-start on it? that could be the cause or else might be cause it make no fire at all you will need to check thoses
when I turn the key ahead to start, all dash lights go out except the anti theft....
My friend had that he drove to work one day and was towed home that night. Turned out we discovered his ignition switch went bad so it seemed the theft couldnt read his key anymore.
ignition switch gone bad... I'm gonna look into that thanks alot!..
