Okay guys heres the problem I can not solve. I have a 2004 cavalier and I replaced my clutch and trans and in the process I put a new deck in and redid my guage wiring. My car wont start now. It cranks fine and you can smell gas its just acting like no spark. I Changed coil packs on top and still nothing. Ive checked and double checked every fuse in the car and under the hood and still nothing. If anyone could give me some words of advise I would aprreciate it cause im stumped.
being tht its new you probably messed with the theft lock system...im not really sure how to fix it but i hear its fairly simple. Just a thought
car is getting plenty of fuel, car also has spark but will not run, it cranks but will not run.
Ya ive tried almost everything. The theft light does not flash like what it says to do a reset. If anyone has any ideas let me know please!
im lost on it...sorry i cant help but i wish you luck. if you do figure it out id be glad to know for future reference
Have you checked the IAC?? Just thowing things out there. Because if it has spark and fuel, must mean it doesnt have air. Try holding the accelerator pedal down while cranking, if it starts then replace ur iac. Hopefully this works!
I've tried holding it down and nothing. Its driving me crazy! It just cranks over no sputtering or anything.
I also noticed down by the speed sensor plug on the transmission their is a two prong plug I can not seem to find out where it goes. Its in the same wiring as the plug for the speed sensor.
I had a feelin it was the theft system but sneezy has a good point
Well guys it ended up being my coil pack on top. I had two spares layin around and apparently they were both junk so I guess the third ones the charm. Thanks for all the pointers.
weird since I got spark from that coil......
