Stalling in gear

Hello, I have a 92 Cavy rs 4 door 2.2 auto, its stock other than a ram air. I,m having problems, The story first, I've been driving city speeds ( under 30 ) latley and today i drove to my grandmas where I got up to Highway speed, when going up hills it seemed like it had almost no power and took a while to down shift, when i got to an intersection i had to stop then take a left. what happend is it stalled when i stopped, then I started it back up put it in drive and it died, it had never done that before, so I tried a few more time and also in 1st and 2nd and again it stalled, then i got pretty ticked off and revved her high and dropped her in drive did a burnout and finally got it going, when i got here it died again when i slowed down to stop, I talked to my cousin who says torque converter, but it only has 99000 miles on it, nad i drove it nice and my cousin who had it before me also did, and it was a granny car in Mo before that so the tranny hasn't been thrashed on. I did some research on the interweb and found it could be my torque conver cylinoid or my vent on the top of my valve cover from not being filtered, I'm assuming its the cylinoid not leting the tranny unlock after being in 3rd gear, I read that i can unplug a plug and it will be a temporary fix, but I dont know what plug, and also do you think thats what it is or do you think it is something else, thanks in advance

Update I just went out started it up and it took right off so im guessing it is that cylinoid, now to find out how to unplug it.
