Hey guys,

So weird thing happened today.

Went to open my roof, it vented ok but when I went for a full open it went about 1/4 inch and started going crooked to the drivers side??? It makes a clicking noise while moving like it's missing the track or something?

Worked perfect yesterday.

wtf? Is it possible it fell off the track. Any advise how to get it aligned?

well unfortunatly your going to need to pull down your headliner, and inspect the motor/teeth. Sounds like ur glass just fell outta the track. I have seen it happen. But pull the liner and go from there, once u can see whats in there, it should be seen right away as to whats wrong.

I have had this happen many a time. The track has just skipped a few teeth on the motor. Pull you head liner down and remove 3 torx (t25 IIRC) to drop the sunroof motor down. Then attempt to slide the sunroof back into its properly closed position and reinstall the motor. Now if that does not work (leave the headliner off for a bit to make sure you dont run into any issues) you will need to drop the motor again and then remove the sunroof glass and slide each slider back down the track. Sometimes as the parts age you need to make a small adjustment to the stops on the sunroof.

there is a small screw towards the front of the sunroof that is your stop IIRC. The is one on each side and it is slotted for a flat tip screwdriver. It is best to have the glass out for the adjustment as it effects either side. Pay attention to where the slide starts to move for the vent portion and then slide back. Its been so long since I have had to do it that the details are all foggy. Its kind of one of those deals where you have to take some time and check everything and remember what screw you turned which way how many times and what not in case the problem gets worse. I do remember that the stops (or whatever they are called) do adjust where each side opens to vent and what not. I might go out tomorrow after work and double check everything and let you know more.

So I finally got around to fixing this.

Total pain in the ass, but you guys were right. Dropped the headliner, dropped the motor, greased everything put it back together ... twice.

Bam its all working again.
