Alright guys I need some help. My car started acting up on me last Monday, I noticed it was bogging pretty bad in low rpms and was fine when driving at highway speeds. Check engine light came on so I took it over to oldskools, he ran the codes and it came up P0300 (random misfire) and P0150 (map sensor). He happened to have an extra map sensor so he switched them out and no difference. At idle it sounds cammed and idles rough at around 1000-1500 rpms and it's all over the place, not steady. It also revs up to 2500 rpms when coming to a stop, this seems to happen more frequently first thing in the morning or when it hasnt been driven in a few hours. I took out the TPS and cleaned it and the throttle body but didn't seem to make a difference. Tuesday when driving home from work it got even worse, every time I would come to a stop it tried to stall out on me, I'd have to rev it to prevent it, but as soon as I'd rev it and hit the brakes my brakes were stiff an hard to stop. The coils, plugs, wires, and housing were just replaced in January.
I then thought maybe my Catalytic converter was bad since it was throwing that code a year ago, but cleared itself. I got a replacement off of Oldskool (thanks for that!) but haven't been able to get to a shop to have it welded. My only other idea is fuel pump since the gas gauge has been screwed up for 2 years now (it reads fine until I hit 1/2 tank then its all over the place). I'm thinking my biggest issue is I have a POS LD9 lol. Sorry for the novel here but I wanted to give as much info as possible. Anyone have any suggestions?
Its sounds like the TPS may be defected, when have you changed your fuel filter?
I changed the fuel filter about a year and a half ago
Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator, if not pull the vacuum line off and if it stays the same then it may be bad
No I haven't checked that. Ill do that this weekend. I was thinking it was an ignition problem. Fuel never crossed my mind actually.
