ok, ty for the help ahead of time....
so i changed my tranny oil and filter. a couple weeks later i started feeling a shudder, which i didnt pay much attention
to, unfortunately... eventually what forced me to notice was when i was backing out of work and i had to give her a lil extra gas to go back.
pulled the trans stick and it was dry lest a fling of oil on the backside. threw two quarts in it, now its over-filled and still shuddering. the amount
varies by speed but also by the ambient temp, which confuses me, because i know i need tires and rear brakes as well. it seems to do it
harder when its hot out, say 100f on the way to work vs 88f when i go home from work.
its holding oil fine now, yea, i should have used a torque wrench the first time.... live and learn.
i was and still am running it 60+ hw miles a day.
so...
is there anything i can do to save the tranny? how long will it last w/ dropping the pan and replacing the oil/filter again vs not?
old girl is on her last leg anyways(frame bent, alignment forced back, causing more shudder in itself), bumps are hell.
any insight is appreciated,
matt

"There is no point in looking fast if your not."
There are several tranny fluid additives that might help with the shudder (correct spelling, lol). Lucas makes one & there is also Lubeguard.
I can't recommend one specifically since I haven't used one, but maybe someone else will chime in.
lol, shuDDer jeff.... i spelled it right in the post but not the title...lol
its already got lucas in it. normal supplement when changing oil n the trans r block.
Guess i should just drain it again put a new filter in, clean the magnet and hope for the best...?
<beats head against wall/>
anyone else?
thanks
matt
