04 Cavalier Ecotec L61 5speed..

This will happen probably once every 2 or 3 months.. my car will start then shut right off and my gauges and radio dont work.. also my airbag light flashes and stays on.

if i turn the key on and off then let it set , then do it again, and let it set , and then again, it clears it and my car starts fine and runs great until it decides to take a dump on me again.

im pretty sure it has something to do with the anti-theft security but i dont know what causes it and it i dont want it to really take a crap on me and then be screwed.

ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT IT COULD BE????

Have you gotten any scanned for any codes? To me it does sound like it could be the anti theft but I'm not a complete pro, just an amatuer tech.

I had the same problem in my Sunfire when I installed my aftermarket cd player, it ended up being a short in the wiring. I didn't use a harness and ended up just soldering the wires together and somehow 2 wires touched each other and thus I got this effect. If you have an aftermarket deck just double check your cabling.

i dont have an aftermarket deck but my dome light did flicker on and off when i would hit a bump.. i just took the bulb out and never really worried about it..

i wonder if that has anything to do with it??
