Hello, I am back! XD
Alright so with the weather quickly changing outside I have noticed a new problem with my 2002 2.2L Cavalier. When the temperature dips below 10C (50F) the engine will rev up 500-1000 RPM then drop back down to the normal idle of 900. It continues to do this up, down, up, down rev and only while the heater is on. Also at low speeds of 10-20 kilometres per hour the engine revs actually make the car speed up a little bit and slow down all by itself. It will do this even with the engine fully warmed up. I can't for the life of me figure out what could be causing it to do this.
Hopefully somebody has an idea of what I can do. Last thing I need right now is a broken down car added on top of my unemployment.
Also forgot to add that the lights on the vehicle dim while it is revving. Battery is pretty much brand new and the whole car got a clean bill of health from Midas a couple months ago.
That is the source of my problems. The wires are pulling out of the connector so I pushed them in an duct taped it into place for a temporary fix. This connector runs to the radiator fan. I found the part that looks the exact same however it's the throttle sensor connector
LINK. I assume this connector is just a generic one that is used in multiple places on the car so I assume I can splice it on to replace the broken one. Anybody see any problems with this?
