When I turn my steering wheel (specifically noticeable at low speeds like when parking) there is this very annoying squeak. It sounds like a zipper going zip zip zip every time I slowly turn the wheel.
It's gotta be a dry joint somewhere but I don't know where to start. I searched here for help, but putting "squeaky steering" gets an awful lot of answers.
I KNOW this is a common problem on these cars as a friend's car does the same thing, and I even had this fixed way back when I was under warranty, but I can't find any old paperwork saying what they did. It's super annoying, please help.
I'm sure it needs lube somewhere, but where and what kind?
Thanks!

it is more than likely your clock spring. Nothing to be worried about, but it is annoying. I have a similar noise and I am almost certain that is my problem. Some days i don't notice it, but it is still there.
