hi guys i got a 05 cavalier with 128,000kms , five speed of course. i just took it on a road trip (200km's) and i noticed that its either just me or the clutch doesnt seem to be as "heavy" as what it use to be, yet it still doesnt slip. it seems as if when its almost out is where the pressure comes back, yet it seems to grab about half way out.
i checked the reservoir, and i saw it isnt sitting level anymore, as if it is cracked in the plastic where its attached to my air box. i didnt check the fluid yet but plan on later when i get home. i was wondering if this may be the problem or what else i should look/ do? thxs for your time, it greatly appreciated.
Mine started having play in it when the fluid was low so check it and make sure it is alright. Also check for a leak, follow the hose out of the resevoir, you'll see it runs thru a v shaped piece of sheet metal, I had my hose rub until it split the hose in that spot and have read others have the same problem. Simple fix is to get a piece of brake line, cut the hose in half, install the brake line inside the hose and hose clamp it together, let the brake line rest in the sheet metal spot so it is metal to metal instead of rubber to metal, mine has lasted 60,000 miles that way. Mine is a 2004 so it should be the same.
