so there is a pretty noticeable gap on the passenger side window of my sunfire vert and I was hoping that there is some kind of quick fix for this that doesn't involve buying those goddamned pricey regulators specially made for convertibles. I have my door panel off and have been trying to jiggle the window back into position with no luck. Also, whenever I roll the windows up the window seems to get caught on something midway, then continues rolling up in a crooked way. I havent been able to diagnose why it's doing this exactly.
You didn't describe exactly where the gap is (top front, top back, side, etc.) so it's hard to help on the gap. I had a gap issue on the DRIVER'S side of my 1996 Cavalier convertibles. If the following link sounds like you problem, you may want to try it on the passenger side.

As far as the stuttering movement, it sounds like maybe one of the window-attached plastic guides that slides along your track is broken. The tracks are steel so I don't think there could be a problem there. And it doesn't sound like a regulator problem. I'd try greasing the tracks with some white grease.
