can i use a one piece timing chain tensioner from a 96 model 2.4 in my 98 that has a two piece design ?it seems as if it is a much better design than the the two piece.
also why did they stopuseing the one piece?

Not sure why they changed, but yes you can. You do have to remove the one stud that gets in the way. I'm running the 1 piece and will only use the 1 piece.
