I have a 97 2.2L auto cavi, with 88,000 miles on it. Recently the oil pressure warning light has been coming on only when i'm at a hard stop like a red light or a stop sign it will come on, then once i let off and hit the gas it goes off. What would the problem be? The oil level has been good even though it seems to be using oil pretty good. Is there anything I should check or do? The car seems to be running ok, I haven't noticed any signs of anything. Any help would be apprecitated

My 97 2.2L was doing the same thing sometimes, but the mechanic saw oil on the oil sensor, on the back of the motor near the coils and the oil filter.
Replaced the sensor and it's been good now. If you feel oil at the sensor then you might just need a new one.

Exactly my thoughts buy a new oil pressure sensor.It even could be the pigtail or plug is loose or not grounding properly.I would just replace it.Easy to do.
