bypass the metal coolant line

Is it ok to bypass the entire metal coolant line with a longer rubber heater hose as long as you don't attach it to the motor?

Mine on the 2.2L is attached to the motor in front by the exhaust manifold, near the bleeder screw which broke. I'm wondering if bypassing the whole metal line would
eliminate the need for bleeding it, or at least make the air bleeding easier since the screw broke.
