should I just leave my coolant alone

Since I'm pretty sure it is the original coolant from the factory and have had no coolant problems so far. I am wondering because I have had no coolant loss "Knock on wood" so far and was wondering if I should try and have someone flush it and put fresh dexcool or should I leave well enough alone because I am afraid of doing this and start having problems with the coolant system?

test your coolant for voltage.

I did the test with the coolant tester you can buy and it was at coldest temp on the scale and the hottest temp on the scale that is on each side of it.

Ok, well it hasn't come time yet for my truck but my 2001 is overdue (timewise) but I'm reluctant. When I was younger I had a 1989 mustang and after I flushed the coolant within a year I had replaced the rad, waterpump and heatercore. Just saying.

Mind you the mustang was long over due. Bad luck?

ok, so it's antifreeze.

you test for voltage to see if there's any electrolysis going on if there is, flush it. if not, leave it be.

It is red though. How can you tell if it is dexcool or not?

If it's the factory antifreeze, it's dex-cool.
