ok so i start my car (cold start) and it will instantly shoot to about 2500rpm and then slowly climb to just over 3000rpm. what could cause this? its been sitting quite a bit lately, ive started it up about once a week and its done that 3 times in a row now.

vac leak. check vac hoses around throttle body and intake gaskets...
alright ill check it out.

i dont think its a vac leak all the hoses look alright... one is gettin a little rough but there isnt any cuts threw it ... other ideas?
