Theft System and Service lights

Got in the car today fired right up drove the the gas station, turned it off, went inside, was back out in 4 mintues. no lights left on, NO reason for the battery to act up.

Got in it at the gas station, tried to crank then hesitated like a dead battery., tried again, same thing, tried again after letting it sit for about 30 seconds and it fired up sluggishly. Drove away, and both these lights came on....car still starts and runs. Do I just need to do the passlock to get rid of them? I am going to check all my power cables and stuff tomorrow. just to verify.

Turns out battery terminals were both loose. Fix it, and all is well now.

yeah thats nothing passlock related at all

passlock failure would cause start and die immedately and blinking security light

or no start at all and blinking security light

the sluggish cranking was dead giveaway that its something else other than security system related, bewsides the no blinking security light as well

always check basics first

as you have found out, in the end

loose or corroded cables will prevent battery from being maintained by the alternator and will end up with low dead battery over time sooner or later

they must be clean dry and tight or you will end up having dead battery and no starts/cranks, among other issues typically

ppl seem to have a hrd time with this concept i dont know why

maybe this will help some ppl out there and at least check their cable clamps and fix them and prevent them from geting stranded somewhere and or from ruining their battery or starter or worse
