Ok so recently my car ('97 2.2 w/ manual trans) started experiencing some problems. It idles rough, sputters/misses especially at low rpm, and dies intermittently (especially early on the first drive of the day). The car will also randomly just fall on it's face while cruising. It's kind of hard to explain, but basically you can be driving on the highway at 65 and it will be perfect, but suddenly it'll almost feel as though someone jabbed the brakes real quick. Sometimes that'll be it and you won't have another problem. Other times it'll get worse. The car will misfire (at least that's what I think it's doing) more and more to the point where you have to pull over. This usually only last for a short time then it clears up again. This is very rare however. It might happen once every few weeks. So far I've replaced the Ignition Control module, coils, plugs, and wires. These had no effect. I had O'reilly's read the code and it came up as "P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input." I happened to have access to a '95 2.2 Cavalier so I swapped the Map sensors but that also had no effect. I'm just out of ideas so I figured I'd give this a try. Any ideas anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
You need a scope with a graphing function, all you have is a general direction to go in with the code that you have, many things can cause this...

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. Any idea on where to start? I brought it to a local shop and even they didn't really have a way to pinpoint the problem. They were ready to start throwing parts at it and empty my wallet.
I'd start with making sure you have 5volts going in the map sensor.

if 5 and 12 volts and ground all are good the just try another map sensor??
hell, we are a fully equipped shop since 1994 we have like everyyhing you can imagine and we dont have a scope like that
i should get one and learn how to use and do this dtuff with one but still havent
where do you find one?
it would help alot with looking at hall effect stuff including CKP sensors etc
in which we get alot of vehicles with failing ones, alot including the '03 Jeep G.C. with 4.7L the other day i had to replace the dying CKP on
