Are these kits good for greater visibility and are they reliable.

depends what you get, ive had a few kits fromm DDM tuning.com and liked their results. Retrofit source is probably going to be your best as far as quality goes. I dont think the 04 sunfire headlight does well with retro fits however, the light spread pattern sucks with the halogen bulb theyre made for.
Thanks for the reply. I'd get the white lights. i.e. no colour. How long should they last? I hear some bulbs burn out after a year or two. Also, I have day time running lights that provide only half the voltage. Does that shorten the life of the bulbs.

The hid work well. I have a 6000k kit in my 05 sunfire.
You will need to bypass the daytime running lights. There used to be a write up on here on how to do. Been a long time I don't rember how to do it. But I think you cut a wire at the bcm and grounded one side of it.
