Hello everyone,
My 2000 Cavalier wont crank, battery is fine, starter is very young.
The other night I was was driving home and the car just died, I suspect the timing chain bit the dust. I'm not a mechanic and I can't afford to take this to one to have it fixed.
I was driving at highway speeds. Will the whole motor be toast? I don't know anything about valves and rockers or any of that stuff. I also dont have many of the tools for special tests.
When I turn the key on the car currently, it just sounds like the starter is spinning, the rest of the motor doesn't seem like its moving. I dont have really anyone who can help me work on this either.
Its a pretty stressful and busy time for my family.
Any help would be appreciated. I will do my best to answer questions.
Try checking the fuel pump. They're pretty common to go out on these cars
Then again, i may have misread this. I apologize. Almost sounds like the starter is not engaging on the flywheel. Not sure though. Good luck sir
Does anyone have a repair manual that has how to do the head gasket and timing chain? I may also need new valves.
