My engine threw its first code today and i had it checked...came up P0455 and stated that the car had a large leak in the "emission system". What all does that involve or a better question what could be the problem.
Any help would be appreciated...
check to see if your gas cap is tight. it is a evaporative emissions code it will not hurt any thing in your car just an annoying light. But it is usual cause by a gas cap left loose.

Well I tried the gas cap and it definately wasnt the problem...any other ideas. Thinking about taking it down to the chevy dealer...i always dread warranty related issues they always give me some crap and a headache
P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak/no flow)
is what book says. gas cap is P0457. could be fuel canister, or evap lines/valves. it's pretty broad.
po440 can be a gas cap too, a missing or losse gas cap equals large leak. At least in the real world. Go to a shop pay them to smoke test it.

Take it strait to any GM dealer and try have to fix it for free. Federal emissions laws state that all emission systems will be covered for 100,000 miles.

that only applies to catalyst emissions, not evaporative.
