This is a little weird, and searched but couldn't find anything.
The car starts and revs high, and if that was it, i'd figure i'd hae a vaccume leak somewhere, and i probably know where if thats the case. but it comes down from 2000 right after the start (maybe 5 seconds) then is around 1500 for about 10 seconds, or so. Then, it goes up and down between 1500 and 1000 and at that same moment, i get a CEL.
Now if I hit the throttle, it evens out again, and a few seconds later, the CEL goes away.
What would cause the computer to adjust it up and down like that? Anything could be at cause since i took off the throttle body and fuel rail to fix a fuel leak. Maybe I didn't get a sensor connection all the way in? Any ideas? Thanks.
Also, I wish I could get that code read, but my 95 year is a weird one, its got an obd2 connector, but its obd1, so autozone can't read it, or any regular obd2 code reader, and the obd1 readers won't connect to the port. i've only seen the $20,000 snap on ones work for my car. Kinda sucks when I have a problem like this.
I just took the car for a drive, and it wasn't too good, I only went like 100 yards, lol. It did as above, but when going in first, I went to like 3K and pressed the clutch to shift to second, and let off the gas, but the rpm was almost stuck at 3K it didn't really drop at all, the car kinda died at that moment, but that could have been me letting the clutch out, and not enough gas since it was at 3K and i was confused at what was going on. So, took it in first back to my parking spot.
I hope this helps someone figure it out. Also, when in first, with no throttle, it was at 2K constantly, going around 10 mph or so. didn't slow down, or fall, just stayed there, i actually had to use the brake going around a corner in the parking lot so i didn't go to fast.
I got a code idle air control valve. code 35 i believe. has anyone seen this code thrown for just an air leak. I think i've got an air leak.
Thought i'd put in here it was a vaccum leak. for those that may have this in the future.
