im putting my 2.4 engine back together, i just had the head re-done and im installing new bearings and piston rings, im tapped out for money, just wondering if i can re-use some gaskets. there is a couple of gaskets that have a orange strip on it, i think the are for the rear main seal, can i put some gasket maker silicone on it? wont it hold better than if it was new?

Should the tensioner shoe be replace? it doesnt really look too worn out, i can see the lines the chain made going over it, but still looks good, are they prone to breaking? i asked the guy at napa, he said they dont sell just the shoe, i have to buy the whole tensioner.

yes you can.....if you plan on redoing everything you have just done all over agian in a month....otherwise no....no you can not

is that a no for the gaskets or tensioner shoe?

always use new gaskets and new parts that get alot of wear and tear...just wait till payday....
