Well, I changed my plugs today and when I started pulling plugs I noticed there was oil on the plugs? This is not normail right? What would cause this to happen and should i be worried about it?
1995 Chev Cavalier 2.2l
Thanks guys.
Probably piston rings, or valve guides.
Git rid of the car while it still runs, or re-build the engine.
The head gasket at #4 is next.
Well does youre cavalier go through alot of oil (burning oil).? The oil is on the electrod part right? If you only got puff of blue smoke on start up in the morning then it is youre valve guides starting to burnout, If you go blue smoke pouring out of the exhaust oil ring is going.
Good Luck.
The car runs pretty good, never seen any blue smoke out the exhuast ever and I never had to add any oil in between oil changes yet.
The oil was on the thread of the plug. I have a leaky valve gasket, is it possible it got in that way?
its most likely your leaky valve cover gasket
clean things up get the gasket changed
Yea that would be my guess as well you got a leaking Valve cover gasket, I know my valve cover gasket needs replacing as well.
^^^^^^ Yup. Mine needs to be changed as well.
I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but at least I'm a pretty color
