there is a bad smell when i turn on the vent of AC, someone sugests me to change the cabin air filter, but i did not find that. has my car this filter? 1999cavalier2.2Lbase model. and I also wana change the intake air teperature sensor, as my engin is hard to start when it is hot.when can i find it?thx
No filter. You may want to clean out your blower motor.
i'm not 100% positive on the location of the IAT on the 2.2 but look on the intake hose that connects from your air filter to your throttle body. There should only be one sensor that is in the hose. That would be the IAT. I believe that they "pop" in and out and are not threaded.

Ummmmm...he isn't talking about the engine air intake...he is talking about the A/C cabin intake. I sprayed lysol into the intake grills by the wipers and it took care of the smell. If you pull that plastic cover off at the bottom of the windshield, you can clean out any crap that has built up and wash it all out. If cleaning that out doesn't work, just turn the blower on full and spray lysol all in there. Gets rid of mild smells. If it is still bad, the dealership can clean it out with something. Not sure whay they are using these days, but I know they always start with Lysol first.

ummmmmmmmm, yeah he did.
on my 99 when i would turn off the a/c there would initially be a "scent" for a brief second then it was gone. i just figured it was normal since it always did it only real quick right after i killed the a/c. get some of those metered vent air fresheners.
