ok im getting the getrag type noise in all of my gears... for example i was in 4th and im on the gas...i would let off and it would make the getrag noise. any suggestions?? it does it in all gears...the problem is....it seems to be getting louder..

A noisy transmission.
Like a wine from a tractor transmission but not as loud. Mine makes that sound as well. I hear most getrags are noisy.
anybody?? also how do i check my manual tranny fluid level?? manual says to take is somewhere...but i would rather do it myself
Get Saturn trans fluid from the dealer. This will help quiet it down.
GM has a fix for it but basically the trans has to be overhauled. They have an updated kit with wave washers instead of flat washers to get rid of the noise.
to check fluid in a getrag tanny, there is a dipstick in the back, straight down and to the right (lookin at front of car) of exhaust manifold
is this fix a recall, or is it a pay job??
i use Synchormesh in my tranny, but it's like $13 a quart, it's a GM fluid, prolly get it at dealership
