Greetings from Ontario. My g/f and I want to go camping in the fine province of Alberta. The major parks are pretty much booked up. Any of you guys have recommendations for smaller lesser-known parks along the Rockies with good scenery and preferably lakeside.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the off-topic-ness.
This is an old message but incase anyone else is wondering I'll answer it.
If you have a 4x4 check out Waisporous or Maclean Creek. There are no "bookings" but its not always easy going as far as the trails are concerned. Beautiful area though.
Dood, if you have a tent and a pack of matches, you can hit any old back road in the moun tains and come to a camp site... There is NO WAY that every camping area is booked up.
Who wants to camp beside 500 other ppl? forget those commercialised camp grounds and hunt for the little ones.
I know of a secret little place...very pristine... perfect fishing stream just down the bank.. NO traffic... nearest camping stall is about 100 meters down a winding road... but it wouldn't be a secret if i told ya
